Suggestions for Catalog Selection ######################################################################## To select: Choose: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Objects that were identified as RRab in this study: p_ab >= 0.35 Objects found in Clementini et al. 2018 Gaia DR2 catalog: GaiaDR2_ID > 0 Objects found in SDSS stripe 82: SDSS_class != 0 Objects found in Sesar et al. 2017 Pan-STARRS catalog: PS1_RRab > 0 Objects found in CRTS RRab catalog: CRTS_ID > 0 Objects found in ATLAS RRab catalog: ATLAS_ID != 0 C. Light Curve Folder Descriptions: ######################################################################## /lc/rrab Light curves of objects identified as RRab by this analysis and confirmed through visual checks /lc/train All cross-matched light curves from SDSS stripe 82 which were used to train the classifier Objects are subdivided by their SDSS classification D. Light Curve Description: ######################################################################## All light curves are named as follows: 'des_'+ QUICK_OBJECT_ID +'.csv' Ex: des_11136400113264.csv The columns contained in each light curve file are: MJD_OBS Modified Julian Date of observation (J2000) BAND DES filter band of observation (grizY) MAG_CORR Extinction-corrected psf magnitude MAGERR_PSF Rescaled photometric error MAG_PSF PSF magnitude not corrected for extinction E. Table Descriptions: ######################################################################## Table 1: The full version of Table 1 contains the coefficients of the equation used to rescale the light curve uncertainties in each HEALPix and filter (see Section 3.1 in text). Table 5: Table 5 contains the purity and completeness values of the Random Forest classifier for a finer grid of score cutoff values (increments of 0.01 instead of the 0.05 in the text). In Stringer, Long, Macri et al. 2019, we chose the value p = 0.35 as the cutoff where the purity is ~85% and the completeness is ~76%, but any other value may be used to select a more pure or more complete sample than we used.
